MARCHMAN PROJECT RECOGNIZED BY GEORGIA TREND MAGAZINE FOR 2021 GEORGIA COUNTY EXCELLENCE AWARD

ATLANTA, GA—Marchman Consulting was notified that the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia (ACCG) and the Georgia Trend magazine selected Rockdale County Accountability Courts as a 2021 Georgia County Excellence Award recipient. The selection honors counties that have taken innovative and cost-effective approaches to solve local issues.

The Georgia County Excellence Awards recognize those efforts that make positive impacts on their communities. Georgia Trend will recognize the program in the June issue of their magazine which can found at the following link:

One of the Accountability Court Judges, Nancy N. Bills, was ecstatic with the recognition and wanted to make sure that all of the staff are recognized for the hard work they do day-in and day-out to ensure all programs are successful. In addition, Judge Bills observed the high level of assistance that Derek Marchman has provided the court programs with assistance with writing grants, policy development, evaluation and even serving one year as Court Administrator during some transitional periods with the court. She stated that “Marchman provides input on a continuous basis that simply makes the programs run smoother.”

Marchman acknowledges that this is their third project to receive top recognition for innovation in Georgia including the Conyers Police Department RASS program and the Rockdale County Task Force Against Family Violence. However, he offers that it is easy to establish programs that address the individual and collective needs of members in the community when you have dedicated champions. These programs are quite achievers because they are focused on the individual, they have serving in mind…not any potential accolades. They truly aim small…miss small.

Marchman Consulting provides assistance to communities to make an impact with all programs such as alcohol risk management (ARM) measures including developing community plans, environmental scans, ordinance development, certification courses such as RASS for servers/owners, and training for ordinance enforcement.
