MARCHMAN PROJECTS AWARDED
4.3 MILLION IN GRANT FUNDING
ATLANTA, GA—Christmas came early and continued into the new year for multiple projects benefiting from assistance by Marchman Consulting. Between November 2021 and February 2022, eight initiatives were awarded more than 4.3 million dollars and created 31 jobs.
Awarded projects include establishing an afterschool program, emergency housing funds, funding for BOLD Ministries Feed the Hunger Program, treatment funds for a local drug court, funds to initiate a felony domestic violence court, and funding to address a court backlog. However, Marchman offered that his favorites may be helping Augusta-Richmond County State Court become selected as a mentor court that creates a basis for a pending application for more than $400,000 to implement a new dedicated domestic violence court.
Derek Marchman quickly pointed out that he is fortunate to work with various local governments who actively look and apply for grants. In contrast, many county and city governments refuse to take advantage of this opportunity. An example is Alice Cintron of Rockdale County, who understands the grant processes and potential minefields. Because of her abilities, Marchman stated he could focus on telling the story in the narrative and supporting the request with research data and evidence-based practices.
BOLD Ministries offered that the secret to Marchman’s success is his ability to personalize a storyline that aligns with the grant proposal. In addition, the effort is completed with evidence-based practices to address gaps in services supported by necessary data sets. Muse concluded that he makes it sound easy, but we know it is not.
Marchman Consulting aids communities to make an impact with all programs by assisting with data analysis, grant development, implementation, and evaluation for sustainability efforts. An example is the alcohol risk management (ARM) measures, including developing community plans, environmental scans, ordinance development, certification courses such as RASS for servers/owners, and training for ordinance enforcement.
