MAYOR VINCE EVANS IS A RECIPIENT OF THE JAMES A. “BUD” CODY COMMUNITY IMPACT AWARD
CONYERS, GA—At the October 22nd City Council Meeting for the City of Conyers, Mayor Vince Evans was recognized as one of the 2025 James A. (Bud) Cody Community Impact Award winners. Derek Marchman had the honor of highlighting the lifelong work of Mayor Evans and subsequently presenting the award to him and his wife, Cyndi. Mayor Evans was gracious in his remarks, humbled to be among the previous winners who are giants in the community.
Evans was born and raised in Covington before earning a Pharmacy Degree from the University of Georgia in 1976. However, he has been a resident of Conyers since 1979, before acquiring the Walker-Warren Drug Store in 1994 and operating it as the Evans Drug Co. With his drugstore and additional commercial properties, Evans became a staple in Olde Town Conyers. After selling the drug store in 2013, he continued to serve customers part-time in a professional fashion.
